After five months, the cuckoo clock exhibition in the gate tower of Hohenzollern Castle and with it the election of the cuckoo clock of the year 2019 came to an end on Wednesday,6.11.2019. Within the framework of the “Exhibition” of the VdS (Association the Black Forest Clock), seven manufacturers of cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest presented their clocks for election. Almost 100,000 castle visitors from all over the world visited the exhibition and voted for the Cuckoo Clock of the Year with the help of 15,000 ballots.

 

Winner clock from Hönes

The winning clock was crowned in the presence of representatives from the seven manufacturing companies and castle administrator Dr.AnjaHoppe. The Owl clock, made by a skilled woodcarver and hand-painted by Uhrenfabrik Hönes GmbH from Titisee-Neustadt is the 2019 Cuckoo Clock of the Year. An original Black Forest cuckoo clock by the clock firm HEKAS from Schonach was raffled off among all voting participants.This year’s clock winner comes from Barcelona, Spain.
