On 08/01/2015 the time had come.
From the 14 original Black Forest cuckoo clocks exhibited since May 2014 in the Zäpflebar at Rothaus Brauerei AG Grafenhausen, the cuckoo clock of the year 2014 selected by visitors was awarded a prize.
Between May and the end of December 2014, around 80,000 guests visited the newly built and opened Zäpflebar, where every beer lover immediately feels “at home,” at Rothaus in Grafenhausen.
Around 8,000 of the visitors made use of the opportunity to select their personal favorites from the watches on display by ballot during this period.
Christian Rasch, the CEO of Rothaus Brauerei AG, opened the small award ceremony on 08/01/2015.
In his opinion, the Black Forest, the Rothaus brewery and the Black Forest cuckoo clocks go very well together, as the art of brewing and clock manufacturing have a long tradition growing out of history.
He would be pleased if Rothaus could once again host an exhibition of this kind.
Together with Ingolf Haas, the chairman of the association VdS, (the Black Forest Clock Association – e.v.) which organizes this exhibition and election, Christian Rasch announced the result of the election.
Winner and thus “Cuckoo Clock of the Year 2014 ” was a clock from the company
Anton Schneider GmbH & Co.KG in 78136 Schonach im Schwarzwald.

- Second place went to a cuckoo clock from the company HÖNES-Kuckucksuhrenfabrikation GmbH in 79822 Titisee-Neustadt.
- The third place was won by another cuckoo clock of the company HÖNES cuckoo clocks factory
All visitors of the clock exhibition, who had participated in the election by ballot, had the chance to win some nice prizes, among them a Rothaus clock and as the main prize a Black Forest cuckoo clock, in the form of a Bahnhäusle clock.
Christian Behringer, the mayor of Grafenhausen, acted as a fairy of fortune and drew the individual winners from the original beer barrel ballot box, under the supervision of Christian Rasch and Ingolf Haas.
